Zindagi Fellowship - Facilitator and Community Outreach

Job Description

  • The Facilitator and Community Outreach lead is the bridge between the Zindagi Fellowship (ZF) and the communities we serve. This is a dynamic, "feet-on-the-ground" role designed for someone who is passionate about DBA (Dalit Bahujan Adivasi) leadership and intersectional feminism. You will not just find and recruit the next generation of leaders but also directly mentor them through facilitation and skill-building.

      • Partnership Management: Act as the primary liaison for grassroots organizations, collectives, and local leaders to co-host awareness events.

      • Targeted Research: Identify engagement gaps in recruitment (regions/groups with low participation) and develop creative interventions to reach them.

      II. Training & Mentorship

      • Curriculum Delivery: Lead interactive sessions on Personal Development, Basic Computer Skills, and Career Readiness.

      • Individual Growth: Track fellow progress through 1-on-1 mentorship, identifying specific barriers to learning and providing empathetic support.

      • Learning Design: Create assignments that translate classroom concepts into real-world community action.

      III. Fellowship Lifecycle Coordination

      • Admissions: Manage the funnel from inquiry to onboarding, including hosting webinars, conducting interviews, and ensuring a transparent selection process.

      • Alumni & Impact: Maintain the ZF alumni network, capturing impact stories and data that demonstrate the long-term power of the program.

      IV. Advocacy & Documentation

      • Represent Zindagi Fellowship at regional conferences and community events.

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Gender Studies, Development Studies, or a related field.

    • 2–4 years in community organizing, rural outreach, or non-formal education.

    • A deep, lived, or professional understanding of Ambedkarite-feminist principles, caste and gender equity, and DBA social justice frameworks.

    • Fluency in Hindi and English is required. Proficiency in regional languages is a significant advantage.

    • Ability and willingness to travel for 10% of the time.

      CORE COMPETENCIES

    • Ability to hold space for sensitive conversations around identity and trauma.

    • Strong documentation skills (reporting) and the ability to manage multiple timelines.

    • Comfortable transitioning from a high-level meeting with a partner organization to a community circle in a small village.

  • This is a full-time, permanent role, designed for long-term engagement with the Zindagi Fellowship. The appointment will include a three-month probationary period, following which benefits such as health insurance and a well-being package will be inlcuded.
