Community Media & Digital Outreach Coordinator

Job Description

  • Project Mukti seeks a creative, socially conscious, and self-driven Community Media & Digital Outreach Coordinator to lead our content design, video editing, and outward-facing storytelling.

    This role is for someone who can go to the field with program teams, capture impactful moments through photos and videos, and translate them into engaging content across platforms, without relying on external designers or editors.

  • Field-Based Storytelling

    ● Travel with teams to fellowships, workshops, and community spaces

    ● Capture photos, videos, short interviews, and behind-the-scenes clips

    ● Ensure informed consent for all documentation

    ● Maintain a well-organized media archive with context and captions

    Design & Video Editing (In-House)

    ● Design all visual content: posters, reels, story slides, report graphics

    ● Edit short videos for social media using tools like CapCut, Canva Video, Descript, InVideo, or similar

    ● Create content suitable for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Twitter/X posts

    ● Add subtitles, transitions, and basic animations where relevant

    ● Ensure brand consistency and accessibility (e.g., alt text, clear fonts)

    Digital Platform Management

    ● Handle & Collaborate with Communications Manager regular updates on Instagram, Twitter/X, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube

    ● Curate and manage a monthly content calendar (stories, campaigns, observances)

    ● Track engagement and performance for learning and feedback

    Website Maintenance

    ● Upload and update blogs, team bios, photos, and reports

    ● Work on organizing and refreshing content on the website (WordPress or similar CMS)

    ● Coordinate minimal tech support, if needed

  • You must be:

    ● Curious, responsible, and open to learning

    ● Comfortable with phones or basic cameras for field documentation

    ● Able to use or quickly learn tools like Canva, CapCut, Descript, etc.

    ● Sensitive to how the media represents caste, gender, and lived experiences

    ● Based in or able to travel across Delhi NCR for shoots and events

    You might also be:

    ● A student or recent graduate in journalism, media, or social sciences

    ● Someone who has managed a personal or collective Instagram account

    ● A volunteer with experience in grassroots campaigns or college organizing

    ● A visual thinker who enjoys creating stories from small moments
